  knowledge of the Austrian - esp. viennese - term and pronounciation:

  german  - viennese/weanarisch - pron. (read as you would in english)
                                   (' = stressed sillable)

  bahnhof  - bauhnhof           - b'ounhove
           - zuggarasch         - ts'oog-gur'ush

  haltestelle - hoitstoe        - (ka auhnung, wia des geh soi)
  (is a bus or tram stop)

  Do not confuse with Bauanhoof (=`farm') (pron.: Bowenhoaf).

  Anyway, "Baunhoof" is a very important word in an idiom that's
  comparable to the English idiom "it's all Greek to me", i.e. "I
  faschteh nua Baunhoof" ("I only understand `train station'"), but at
  this point you will probably thing that I'm joking. You'll see (when
  you are there) that I'm not.
